Good morning ladies and gentleman,

My name is Maxwell Miao from 2014 Cohort. It is the great pleasure and honor to stand here for this speech. 

First of all, we want to thanks to University of Paris Dauphine, and Tsinghua University to establish this EDBA program. This program helped us fulfil the dream to be a “doctor”. For sure we will have new dream, but “to be a doctor” will be always the most important and most difficult dream in our life. It is the great vision from Dauphine gave us this possibility and opportunity to make it happen. 

Secondly we want to thanks to all the teachers and professors involved in this project, especially the program leader Professor Bernard from Paris and Stone from Beijing, we know how many efforts all of the team spent on this program, all the organization is so professional and comfortable. We still remembered the first class in Beijing, we talked a lot about what we want to do. Professor Pierre Romelaer, he has a very lovely Chinese name “teacher Pi”, remaindered us “you cannot boil the sea”. Frankly speaking we spend more than one year to understand what your mean, otherwise we won’t be here today. For my tutor Professor Bernard always told me to “keep focus”, you have to be better than me for your specific research topic. This is the same logic a nail can make a hole easily on the wall than use your hand. I can tell you today this is not only the good logic for my studying, but also for my work and life.

Thirdly we want to thanks to my classmate, and all the student involved in this projects. Every EDBA student is the specialist for their field. During the class, all the team is very open to talk about their studying, very open to give the professional feedback to other’s studying, they opened the door totally during the case studying, and they are very generous to share all their networks in case we need. My classmate Mr. Xiaxiang told me “Maxwell, this is what you want to write, but not the things reader wants to see”. My classmate Mr. Li Haiping, as a 60 years student, explained me how “We-Chat” changed his management and company structure. My classmate Wentao Wang, encouraged me to keep things moving when I am in very difficult situation. Thanks and thanks again.

And here we want to give the special thanks to our family members. I am very sure you are the person knows deeply how difficult to get this diploma. I have defined the time good for studying in 3 levels, the first also the best level is the long holiday, such as “Golden week”, the Spring Festival, The second level is the weekend. The third level is every day after work. In last 3 years we almost have no holiday and vacation. This is the thanks, this is also the sorry. This certificate is not only my achievement, also your achievement. It is my honor, also your honor. Thanks again to our family.

At last, I want to say today we are certificated the doctors degree. This is not the end, but the new start for our studying. Just like Miss XuShuying, the famous Chinese studying specialist, said “the Chinese studying is like the golden mine waiting for us to develop”. There is another famous Chinese scholar Ji Xianlin said “The western culture lead the world in last several hundred years but face some significant difficulties, now is the time to studying eastern culture since it lead the world for several thousand years”. Dauphine, as the pioneer already opened the door, gave us the tool, polished our mindset, we will have good chance to do some contribution for this big project.
